WE ARE OPEN!

We are delighted to open our Terrace and Garden on Wednesday 14th April for five weeks of Alfresco dining and drinking. We are now taking bookings for tables up to 6 people or two households.

Indoor dining in the restaurant and our accommodation will reopen on the 17th May.

As we have all been hibernating at home we thought everyone would be eager to escape so we’ve decided to extend our food service times. Our restaurant will now open all day on a Saturday from 12pm until 9pm. Our Garden Room will offer a selection of hot and cold beverages, cakes and pastries and savoury snacks from 9am until 5pm Wednesday to Sunday too.

Please see our restaurant and bar opening times from 14th April here.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

The story so far...

Amberley Black Horse, in the centre of the picturesque village of Amberley in West Sussex, nestling in the stunning South Down’s National Park. This beautiful Grade II listed Inn has undergone extensive refurbishment by Johnnie and Emma Kennedy, reopening on 1st December 2018.

The Black Horse had previously been closed for several years and its' future looked bleak. However, the villagers of Amberley fought hard to keep it and they won. The Kennedys saw the potential in this beautiful building in 2016 and purchased it in order to enhance it to now offer eleven bedrooms, an elegant, sixty seater restaurant, a spacious bar, private dining room, breakfast room, dining terrace and garden.

Emma and Johnnie are passionate about both design and hospitality, they always create establishments in which they would like to Drink, Eat, and Sleep!

The Amberley Black Horse is the perfect environment for customers to relax with a pint or a cocktail, take a quick snack as they conquer the South Downs Way, enjoy a celebration supper or settle for a weekend stay in idyllic surroundings.

The pub is located between Storrington and Arundel. The village has it’s own railway station so is easily reached from London in just over an hour.
