We are delighted to announce we have been joined by Matt Price as our Head Chef

With his prestigious background he brings his flair of modern British cuisine to Amberley.

The Kennedy's, Hayley and the team are excited to welcome Matt to the Amberley Black Horse and can’t wait for you to visit and experience his food.

Matt was born and raised in Sussex and is excited to be back home to share his wealth of knowledge and flavour accumulated during travels. He has worked in some of the most influential kitchens around the world and is excited to showcase the best ingredients Sussex has to offer.

Matt's ethos is one that fits in with the vision for our pub and the local area:

Fish always sustainably caught,

Meat always responsibly sourced,

Fruit and Vegetables always fresh,

Eggs always free range

At the Amberley Black Horse the menus are always seasonal and quality never compromised!!

As we get ready, this week, the restaurant will close from Monday lunchtime and will reopen on Wednesday 9th July from 6pm.

Amberley Black Horse is located within the quiet, picturesque village of Amberley within the South Downs National Park. It’s the perfect environment for customers to relax with a pint or a cocktail, take a quick snack, enjoy a celebration supper or settle for a weekend stay in idyllic surroundings.

The Kennedy’s are both passionate about creating beautiful environments within the building and also the garden that are not only aesthetically pleasing but offer great comfort with exceptional food and drink.

We are now into our sixth year since opening and we cannot believe where the time has gone. We would like to take the opportunity to thank all our valued customers for all their support.
